Chinese New Year Vacation, part 1 - Taipei

This is a famous bubble milk tea in Taipei. It's WONDERFUL!

This time, the pandas were awake! So cute...

The flamingoes were pretty.

This is a carved coral at the 88th floor of the Taipei 101 building.

My failed attempt at a panoramic photo at the 89th floor of 101.

This is the wind damper that makes sure Taipei 101 doesn't fall over in the wind or an earthquake. Don't know how it works. You can google it.

Whoo! how many taxis can you count in this one small section of Taipei road!?

View from the 89th floor of Taipei 101.

Yay! Taipei 101! Second tallest building in the world!

God has the whole word in His hands, but I have Taipei 101 in mine. :)

The following few photos are taken in Shihlin night market. Good eats!

Festive lanterns in front of a temple in Shihlin night market.

The first of many self-portraits taken on this trip. In front of the National Palace museum, home to many beautiful valuables from ancient China.

We were Not Allowed to Take Photos. but I smuggled a few anyway. This is a curio box from... um.. a long time ago in China. I thought it was beautifully carved.

I will post a blog later with anecdotes, etc about our East coast train trip during Chinese New Year Vacation! Right now, though, I'm just glad to be back at home and have clean clothes. :) These photos are from part 1 of our trip - Taipei. We visited the National Palace Museum, Shihlin night market, Taipei 101, and the Taipei zoo in the two days we were there. I took loads of photos, so I'm only uploading a few of the scenic/place photos here to my blog. Photos of friends and me are shared on Facebook. :)
