Still no pictures. *shrug* Oh well. I'm not actually in Taiwan yet so any pictures I post at this point would be...of...Alaska? Which everybody who reads this would not be that impressed by.
Hah.

Well, mostly I wanted to let the world know that I was doing some reading on the subject of Life in Taiwan, and discovered that cockroaches *shudder* abound on the island.
Oh my.

Somehow during the whole "yay new places, new things, exciting move" phase, I forgot that cockroaches live in tropical places. Oog.

My list of things I Do Not Like At All goes like this: 1.) Sharks; 2.) Airplanes; 3.) Cockroaches; and 4.) People Who Sneeze on Me

Augh. I have to face at least two of these within the next month! help...... I suppose the Things I discover that I Do Like in Taiwan will be more than these Things I Do Not Like At All... I'll let you know. :)

Next time I Blog I will probably be either in Taiwan or very close to leaving, like if I get bored in the airport. So Wish me luck and send up lots of prayers for me as I continue stuffing my Life into that *ever heavier* duffel bag and suitcase and bring things here to a close.

Adventure #1: Sharon tries a "Blog"

The very word, "Blog", is suspicious to me. However, as it appears to be quite an effective and widely used tool to keep in touch with friends & family, I am making an effort to figure it out and conquer it. :) It appears you just type stuff and click some buttons. Surely I can be smarter than the Blog.

My motives for creating a "Blog" are threefold:
Firstfold: I'm moving to Taiwan in 5 SHORT WEEKS! and need a way to keep people who are interested updated since I'm not well-known for my superb emailing skills.
Secondfold: I like pictures and plan to post lots and lots, if my camera will cooperate, which of late has not been quite the case. However, I plan to conquer that too.
Thirdfold: Um..I guess my motives were just twofold. Oops.

Well, so anybody reading this surely knows by now that I'm moving to Taiwan on June 28th to teach English at JacksonFive English school this coming year. Right now my attentions are focused on figuring out how to pack all the Stuff I want to take into two 50 pound bags (one of which is a very Awesome duffel bag (I can fit my whole self in it!), but has no wheels which I'm starting to think may not have been the most Awesome idea ever). The other suitcase has four wheels and currently weighs 65 pounds. The Stuff I put in it felt light on the way in! Augh.

So that is my current dilemma, as well as wondering where the little bugs I found under my kitchen sink came from and if there are any more of them. If so, I hope they are quaking in fear because Sharon has a Special Plan for bugs found in the house, which mostly involves squishing.

So this is my first attempt at a "Blog". I promise I will soon stop putting quotation marks around the word "Blog" once I am not suspicious of it and I know it works.

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and I plan to: 1.) Make my camera work again; and 2.) Clean my apartment which I have to be out of by the end of the month, because I want my refund back.

So perhaps next week I will post a few pictures. But for now, I have to go eat something because as those of you who know me know, Food is of Utter Importance in my life. :)
